Open Server is a local server on which you can create your site project, and then put it on hosting.
By and large, Open Server is an analogue of Denwer, but in my opinion it is more interesting in its capabilities. And that’s why:
- This is not just a local server, but also a full-fledged complex for working with sites. The product includes PhpMyAdmin – a service for working with databases.
- Open Server does not need to be installed, it is completely portable. Therefore, you can use it simply by throwing it on a USB flash drive.
- The most important thing is that it is very easy to use, you will feel it from the very first minutes.
Step by step installation.
We go to the official website ospanel.io. Need to download.
Click download. We choose the Open Server Panel Basic version. We enter the numbers from the picture (from the one that appears with you). Click download.
After clicking download, a page with a form will open, which offers two download options.
You can support the project with an amount equivalent to $ 3, or click “No thanks, I just want to download”. If you choose the second download option, a form will appear with an offer to support the project. So if you don’t want to, click “No thanks, just want to download” again.
The speed will be very low. You can pause for tea with buns (about 1 hour).
Double click on the downloaded file.
A window will open for specifying the location to unpack the archive.
Choose a place to install (unpack) and click “eject”.
We go to the folder selected in the previous step. Find the “OpenServer” folder, open it. Run the “Open server.exe” file.
Choosing a language. Since the launch is the first, a window will appear:
Click OK and wait for the installation of Microsoft Visual C ++ Runtime & Patches.
After installation, you will need to restart your computer. We reboot.
After rebooting, reopen the folder with the unpacked program. Run the file “Open server.exe”. For further convenience, create a shortcut to your desktop.
After launching the application, a red flag icon will appear in the tray.
We click on the checkbox. The Open Server menu appears.
Click on the green checkbox that says “Run”. Then we wait, the red flag will change to yellow, then green.
Congratulations! The server is running.
In the next lesson we will figure out what to do with it and how to use it.
